ABOUT TITAN GYMNASIUM
Host to the 1984 Olympic Games competition in team handball, Titan Gym is best known as the home of the Cal State Fullerton Titan basketball and volleyball teams. Equipped with theatre-style seats in a renovation in the early 1990s, it's now part of a large Titan Sports Complex with opened in 1992. The complex includes 10,000-seat Titan Stadium and modern facilities for Fullerton's baseball (3,800 seats), softball (1,000 seats), tennis (12 courts) and a combined soccer and track & field facility.
Titan Gym was designed by Woodford & Bernard Architects and offers 4,000 seats, primarily in retractable bleachers. It opened in September 1965.
•Location and parking:
The gym is located at the southeast corner of West Campus Drive and Gymnasium Drive, near the center of the north Orange County campus. It is accessed from the Orange (57) Freeway at the Yorba Linda or Nutwood Avenue exits. Public parking for facilities is located in lot A and G on the northwest corner of the campus.
The assistant athletic director for facilities and scheduling is Aaron Tapper, (714) 278-7762.
The floor area comprises approximately 23,000 square feet with a length of 120 feet. The floor is hardwood and is illuminated by a high- quality metal-halide system. Load-in is accommodated by a ground-level dockway.
There are large locker rooms for men and women in the arena proper, plus meeting rooms nearby in adjacent buildings.
