Inaugural Los Angeles Sports Summit Announced

Los Angeles (January 22, 2019) -- The Los Angeles Sports Council and the Southern California Committee for the Olympic Games (SCCOG) are pleased to announce the inaugural Los Angeles Sports Summit, to be held June 24-26, 2019, in downtown Los Angeles.

The three-day Summit is designed to examine the world of sport in the number one sports city in the world -- Los Angeles. The conference will engage thought leaders, dealmakers, industry stakeholders and athletes on innovation, trends, leadership and the business of sport in the region and beyond.

"Los Angeles is the place for sports - teams, leagues, owners, venues, events and players - so it's only natural that we convene a yearly conference that brings them all together," said Sports Council President David Siegel. "The LA Sports Summit will do just that."

The Los Angeles area is home to 11 professional sports teams, eight NCAA Division I schools, 14 stadiums with at least 10,000 seats, 11 arenas with 5,000 seats or more, dozens of smaller sports facilities, and millions of fans.

"Los Angeles is one of the world's great sports towns because our teams embody the diversity, talent, and passion that has built L.A. into one of the world's most extraordinary places," said Mayor Eric Garcetti. "The L.A Sports Summit will make our athletic tradition even richer and give sports fans everywhere another reason to visit our city."

A cornerstone of this year's Summit will be the presentation of a Los Angeles Region Sports Economic Impact Report, designed to measure the economic impact of the sports industry in the region.

"The last Economic Impact Report was conducted in 2013, before we added two NFL teams, new stadiums and renovations to current venues," said Sports Council Chair Tony Sciarrino. "An updated study is long overdue and will inform a robust discussion at the LA Sports Summit."

With more than 350 high profile attendees expected from the region, across the country and around the world, the LA Sports Summit will explore a range of topics. This will include what's new in sports innovation, fan experience, fantasy sports and eSports; women and sports leadership; upcoming mega events -- the 2019 World Urban Games, 2022 Super Bowl, 2028 Olympics, anticipated FIFA World Cup events -- and more. Interviews and panels with team owners, star athletes and the executives behind the art of the deals will be featured.

Attendee pricing will be $595, with a limited time early bird discount of $495 only until February 14. Internship and volunteer opportunities are available leading up to and including the Summit. Corporate packages for multiple registrations are available along with sponsorship and exhibitor showcase information.

Please contact us at info@LASportsSummit.org for all attendee, sponsorship, and internship and volunteer inquiries. The www.LASportsSummit.org website and online registration will launch on January 22.
