The eighth annual L.A. Sports Awards took place on March 3. The Los Angeles Sports Council asked fans to help select the greatest moments in sports for 2012 in the Los Angeles/Orange County area. By voting on this website, fans ranked the year's Top 10 sports moments as well as cast their votes in 14 different award categories.
Voting took place from Thursday, January 10 through Friday, January 31. Winners were revealed on Sunday, March 3 during a special dinner and show at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The awards show will air multiple times on Fox Sports West. All winners received awards specially created by Tiffany & Co. for this occasion.
The Top 10 moments of 2012 were chosen and ranked based on a list of 15 moments nominated by our Media Panel. The online voting results were combined with the vote of the media panel (50% each), to determine the exact ranking of the Top 10 moments. To view the year's 10 Greatest Moments, click here.
For the category awards, nominations are listed in chronological order. Three nominated moments per category were provided by each team, university or association.
