KINGS TOP MOMENTS 2009

Acquisition of Smyth Leads to Great Start
The Kings acquired perennial All-Star left wing Ryan Smyth in a trade with the Colorado Avalanche. A four-time 30-goal scorer with extensive international and NHL playoff experience, Smyth brought an intense blend of grinding, fearless hockey to the Kings lineup and helped catapult the Kings to their best start since the 1992-93 season (July 3).
“Triple Crown Line” Reunites
The Kings’ famed Triple Crown Line of Marcel Dionne, Dave Taylor and Charlie Simmer were reunited in Los Angeles for the first time since 1984 as they headlined the first annual LA Kings Hockey Fest – a three-day interactive fan festival celebrating the history of the Los Angeles Kings and the game of hockey (August 28).
