Angels win 4th A.L. West Title in 5 seasons
The Angels clinched the 2008 A.L. West Division crown with a 4-2 win over the Yankees at Angel Stadium, coupled with Texas’ loss to Seattle. The Angels were the first team in baseball to clinch a playoff spot this season, winning their fourth A.L. West title in the last five years (September 10).

Rodriguez sets MLB record with 62 saves
By pitching a scoreless ninth inning Angels' closer Francisco Rodriguez notched his 62nd save. K-Rod shattered the previous single-season record of 57 held by Bobby Thigpen as the Angels defeated the Mariners 6-5, at Seattle (September 24).
Angels set club record with 100 wins
On the last day of the regular season the Angels set a club record with their 100th victory in a 7-0 win over the Texas Rangers. The Angels became the first Major League team to hit the 100-win mark since the 2005 Cardinals and the first American League team since the 2004 Yankees (September 28).
