Felix Shines at World Championships
Los Angeles native Allyson Felix starred at the IAAF World Track and Field Championships in Osaka, Japan, winning three gold medals. Felix defended her title in the 200 meters and ran powerful relay legs to help the U.S. to victories in the 4x100 meter and 4x400 meter events, all three in world-leading times (September 2).

Kobe Leads Team USA
Kobe Bryant led Team USA to a 118-81 victory in the championship game of the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada. The win completed a 10-0 tournament for the American squad and qualified the United States for the 2008 Olympic basketball tournament in Beijing (September 2).
Bennett Wins Back-to-Back L.A. Triathlons, Sweeps Series
Australian Greg Bennett won the City of Los Angeles Triathlon for the Second consecutive year. It was his fourth major triathlon victory of the year en route to a five-event sweep of the Life Time Fitness Triathlon Series and a $300,000 bonus (September 9).
