Local Amateur Gagne Makes 10 Holes-in-one
Just five years after taking up golf Jacqueline Gagne, 47, claimed 10 holes-in-one in a three-month stretch on holes with distances ranging from 95 to 150 yards. Although she has plenty of skeptics, she also had witnesses to each event (February - April).
Fowler and Lovemark Help U.S. to Walker Cup win
Southlanders Rickie Fowler and Jamie Lovemark helped the United States defeat Great Britain in the 41st Walker Cup matches at Royal County Down, Northern Ireland. Lovemark, a USC freshman who won the NCAA Division I individual title, and Fowler, now attending Oklahoma State, each won three points (September 9).

Tiger Wins First Fed-Ex Cup
Tiger Woods finished a record-breaking season by winning the inaugural Fed-Ex Cup. In all, Woods won seven events including the PGA Championship and closed with a flourish, winning The PGA Tour Championship at East Lake in Atlanta to claim the Fed-Ex Cup (September 16).
