Ducks Advance to Western Conference Final in Double-Overtime Thriller
With a 1-1 tie at the end of regulation and a scoreless first overtime session, the Anaheim Ducks and Vancouver Canucks headed into double overtime at the Honda Center. After 84:30 of play, Scott Niedermayer shot the puck past Roberto Luongo, scoring on the Ducks' 58th shot on goal and clinching the Semifinal playoff series, 4-1and advancing the club to the Western Conference Final (May 3).
Ducks Force Overtime, Defeat Red Wings in Game Five
Trailing 1-0 with just 48 seconds left, Scott Niedermayer evened the score to force overtime in crucial Game Five of the Western Conference Finals, at Detroit. In overtime Teemu Selanne capitalized after a turnover in Detroit's zone, giving the Ducks a 2-1 victory and a 3-2 series lead heading back to Anaheim for Game Six (May 20).

Ducks Defeat Ottawa in Five Games to Win Stanley Cup
Anaheim clinched the Stanley Cup at home with a 6-2 rout of the Ottawa Senators, giving the club its first NHL championship in franchise history while also becoming the first West Coast team ever to win the Cup. Travis Moen scored two goals for the Ducks, fueling the club to its highest goal total of the postseason, and J.S. Giguere stopped 11 of 13 shots for his NHL-high 13th win of the postseason, at the Honda Center (June 6).
