Robitaille Sets Kings Scoring Record
Luc Robitaille scored his 551st goal as a King, breaking Marcel Dionne's all-time franchise record. In recording a hat trick (3 goals) Luc led the Kings to an 8-6 victory over the Atlanta Thrashers at Staples Center (January 19).
Blake Returns to the Kings
Rob Blake, the highest-scoring defenseman in Kings history, returned to Los Angeles for his second tour of duty with the franchise, signing a 2-year contract (July 1).
Miller Becomes a Star
Kings Hall of Fame Announcer Bob Miller received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, becoming the first individual from the world of hockey to be so honored (October 2).
