By defeating the Houston Dynamo 3-1 at Home Depot Center, the Galaxy advanced to the finals of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, the country's oldest team competition, for the fourth time in the last six years (September 6).
Galaxy Win 2006 Honda SuperClasico Championship
With a 3-0 victory against Chivas USA, the Galaxy clinched their second straight SuperClasico trophy with an overall record of two wins, one loss and one draw in the annual four-game series against their inter-city rivals, at the Home Depot Center (September 30).
