Maggette leads Clippers over Heat in double OT
Tied at 112-112 in double overtime, Corey Maggette hit a fade away jumper with 0:00.5 to play to give the Clippers a thrilling 114-112 victory over the Miami Heat at STAPLES Center on January 14. Maggette scored 11 of his 28 points in the overtime periods and added 10 rebounds in the win. |
Clippers rally to beat Lakers - Winner
The Clippers used a 16-0 third quarter run to erase a 10-point deficit and held off a fourth quarter rally in snapping a nine-game road losing streak with a 110-101 victory over the Lakers as the visiting team at STAPLES Center on March 8. With the win, the Clippers earned their first season-series split with the Lakers for the first time since the 1996-97 season, which was also the last time that the Clippers had won two consecutive games over the Lakers. The win also snapped a seven-game road losing streak on the Lakers floor. |
Livingston's last-second shot tops Charlotte
Shaun Livingston scored a then career-high 17 points and hit the game-winning layup in transition with 0:01.0 to play to give the Clippers a 104-102 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats at the Charlotte Coliseum on April 5. Livingston also had career-highs of eight rebounds and six steals while dishing out a team-high nine assists. |
Clippers set team mark for wins at STAPLES Center
With their 94-89 victory over New Orleans on April 16, the Clippers finished their home schedule with a 27-14 record to equal their best mark at home since the 1992-93 season. With their 94-85 victory over Utah on April 12, the Clippers set their highest win total at STAPLES Center since the team moved to the building in 1999 with 26 wins. |
New Clippers practice facility confirmed
On July 7, 2005 the Clippers announced the completion of an agreement to purchase a parcel of land within the Playa Vista development on Los Angeles' westside, acquired for the purpose of constructing a state of the art practice facility, designed for the team's exclusive use, and scheduled for completion by Fall, 2006. |
