About Murdock Stadium |
 |
 |
 |
 |
One of the well-known stadiums in the South Bay area of Los Angeles, El
Camino College's Murdock Stadium has been a popular site for El Camino's
own teams and for many soccer matches featuring local and international
teams. It has also been the site for the 1991 U.S. Olympic Festival soccer
competition.
The stadium is accompanied by a group of excellent support facilities,
including an adjacent practice field, a 2,000-seat gymnasium (which held
the 1991 U.S. Olympic Festival wrestling competition), a baseball field and
tennis courts. It was named for the college's founding president, Forrest
G. Murdock, who retired in 1958, soon after the facility opened.
