About Anaheim Arena
A part of the massive Anaheim Convention Center, the Anaheim Arena has been the site of many memorable events, including the 1984 Olympic Games. It opened in July 1967 and soon became home to the Anaheim Amigos of the old American Basketball Association and has hosted a full slate of big-time sports and entertainment events including the Harlem Globetrotters, the Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus as well as the May 3, 1992 NBA Western Conference playoff game between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Utah Jazz that attracted a sell-out crowd of 7,500.

In 1984, the wrestling competitions of the Games of the XXIIIrd Olympiad were held at the Arena, drawing 105,380 spectators over the 10 days of competition to watch 286 wrestlers from 40 countries in action. The Arena was the proposed secondary venue for basketball in the Los Angeles bid for the 2012 Olympic Games.
